According to the stories, Lord Shiva hid in this place to escape the Pandavas before eventually appearing in Kedarnath. Today marks an important day in our Do Dham Yatra, we leave early morning from Guptkashi and set off on a scenic trek to the Kedarnath Temple. This breathtaking trail is enveloped by stunning snow-capped mountains and beautiful valleys. The Kedarnath Temple, revered as one of the 12 sacred jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva, is nestled within the magnificent Kedarnath range. According to legend, the Pandavas sought forgiveness from Lord Shiva after the Kurukshetra war, but in an attempt to evade them, he transformed into a bull and took refuge at Kedarnath. As he fled, he sank into the earth, leaving behind a hump that became the Kedarnath shrine. The rest of Lord Shiva's body is believed to have manifested at four other locations: Tungnath (arms), Rudranath (face), Madhmaheshwar (belly), and Kalpeshwar (locks and head). Together, these five sacred sites, including Kedarnath, are known as the Panch Kedar. While completing the trek in a single day may be challenging, especially for those unaccustomed to it, it is feasible to reach Kedarnath by opting for ponies or a helicopter, though this will come at an extra cost. Please keep in mind that accommodation in Kedarnath is limited. If rooms are unavailable, we may need to adjust our location to accommodate the group. Your overnight stay will be at a Guest House, Hotel, or Ashram.

Start your day early with the Aarti ceremony at the sacred Kedarnath Temple. Participate in this auspicious ritual, which is a divine experience for every pilgrim, before beginning the return trek to Gaurikund. The trek is approximately 14 km long and takes around 6-7 hours to complete, offering breathtaking views of the Himalayan landscape as you descend.

Upon reaching Gaurikund, take a local taxi to Sonprayag (ensure you reach Sonprayag by 1:00 PM). From Sonprayag, we will board our vehicle and proceed towards the quaint Sari Village / Ukhimath.

Upon arrival in Sari Village / Ukhimath, check into your pre-arranged homestay/ hotel, where you’ll be treated to homemade Garhwali cuisine prepared by your warm and welcoming hosts. It’s a wonderful opportunity to experience the local culture and enjoy a cozy evening in the hills.

Day 04 :

Ukhimath/ Saari Village (4301 Ft.) to Badrinath (10830 Ft.) by surface 170 Kms approx 6-7 Hrs

This morning, we start early from Ukhimath or Saari Village towards Badrinath covers around 160 kilometers and typically takes 6 to 7 hours by road. Travelers will head to Badrinath after enjoying breakfast. Once there, pilgrims can take a dip in the Taptkund, followed by a visit to the revered Badrivishal temple and participation in the evening Aarti. The Brahamakapal area is significant for conducting Pinddan Shraddh ceremonies for ancestors. Within a three-kilometer radius of Badrinath, visitors can explore attractions such as Mana, Vyas Gufa, Maatamoorti, Charanpaduka, Bhimkund, and the point where the Saraswati River emerges. Situated at an altitude of 3,133 meters, this ancient pilgrimage site is one of the "Ancient Four Dhams" and is surrounded by the Nar and Narayan mountain ranges, with the stunning Neelkanth Peak looming in the background. The area, once filled with wild berries, was aptly named "Badri van," meaning "forest of berries." Rest of the evening at leisure for your activities.

AccommodationToday we leave early morning from Badrinath to Rishikesh via Joshimath and Rudraprayag , which will take about 10-12 hours. Start your day early to appreciate the stunning Badrinath Temple and participate in the morning Pooja ceremony. In the afternoon, continue your drive towards Rishikesh, passing through Joshimath and Rudraprayag. Rishikesh, often referred to as the "place of sages," is a revered spiritual town located on the banks of the Ganga River and surrounded by the Shivalik range of the Himalayas on three sides. According to legend, when Raibhya Rishi performed intense penances, God appeared as "Hrishikesh," which is how the area got its name. While in Rishikesh, explore various temples, including Laxman Jhula and Ram Jhula. The day concludes with a drop-off at Natraj Chowk in Rishikesh.
