Sandakphu Phalut Trek Route:-

The Sandakphu-Phalut Trek begins at Shrikhola, which is located at an elevation of 6,233 feet. The trek leads through the charming village of Samanden (6,890 feet) and passes by Ramam (8,398 feet), featuring peaceful forest trails and breathtaking views. After leaving Samanden, the path ascends to Phalut (11,794 feet), passing through Gorkhey (7,874 feet), Thokum (10,498 feet), and Aal (10,170 feet), all while providing stunning vistas of the Himalayan peaks. As the journey continues, it takes you to Timburey (5,905 feet) via Sandakphu (11,929 feet), the highest point of the trek that offers magnificent panoramic scenery. Finally, the trail descends back to Shrikhola (6,233 feet), where you’ll be driven to NJP (New Jalpaiguri) to conclude this incredible adventure.

Best Time to do Sandakphu Phalut Trek:-

Spring (March to May): When the trek is full of Rhododendrons and Magnolias bloom, creating a vibrant landscape, making it a perfect time for loving your adventure. The Temperature daytime temperatures fluctuate between 8°C and 15°C, while nighttime temperatures dip to a chilly 0°C to 5°C

Autumn (October to December): Best time to witness clear skies and stunning views of the tallest Himalayas. The Temperature during daytime will be between 5°C to 12°C and nighttime temperatures from -5°C to 5°C.

Winter (January to February): This time is perfect for the snow lover and enjoying a pristine, serene environment. The temperatures ranging from just below freezing to a few degrees above, while nighttime temperatures can plummet to extremely cold levels.

How to Reach Base Camp:-

By Flight: You can reach the starting point of the trek in Shrikhola by hiring a taxi from Bagdogra airport, which is around 100 km away.

By Train: The nearest train station is New Jalpaiguri (NJP), and from there, you can hire a taxi or join a shared jeep service to Shrikhola.

By Road: Travelers can easily access the starting point of the trek in Shrikhola from Siliguri, Darjeeling, and NJP by using regular shared jeeps or private taxis that operate on a frequent basis.

Note: The Travel Foot can arrange transportation on a sharing or exclusive basis from/to Siliguri. The Transport cost will be shared amongst a number of travellers.
